The Johnson County Museum of History and Discover Downtown Franklin, Inc. are hosting the inaugural Beer and Bluegrass Festival on August 24th, 2012.  This new festival will replace the August 4th Friday event that occurs annually.  However, this event will incorporate the activities of a normal 4thFriday, but with a fun new twist!So what activities will be available?  The Beer and Bluegrass Festival will take place from 5:00 pm-9:00 pm on East Court Street.  The event will include a classic car cruise-in on North Main Street, live bluegrass music from Cornfields and Crossroads, and food vendors.  The new feature is a beer tasting occurring in the parking lot of City Hall.  Local microbreweries from all over Indiana have been invited to attend and showcase their unique flavors.Patrons can purchase a ticket, $15 pre-sale or $20 day of event, allowing 15 samples of various types of beer.  Tickets are now on sale at the Johnson County Museum of History, all Heartland Community Banks, and the Franklin Farmers’ Market. Participants MUST be 21 years of age or older to enter the tasting area.
