February saw coverage from several Indiana beer writers:
On Valentine’s Day, the guys from Talking Pints came by for a tour and visit. It happened to be Taco Thursday, so they rolled in around noon at just the right time to break bread(tortillas, at least) with the brewers. Dave and Darrick write a column in the Muncie Star Press and are deeply involved in the craft beer scene. At the risk of repeating ourselves, if you’re near Muncie anytime soon, do not miss the outstanding craft beer venues in Muncie. It is a town loaded with people who truly love craft beer. You can find Talking Pints page at “Talking Pints Muncie” on Facebook. They’ll detail their voyage to Flat 12 in the March 2nd Sunday print edition of the Muncie Star Press.
The gang from Indiana Beer Dot Com put together a group tasting of Porters recently. The group gave Pogue’s Run Porter highest marks, one writer noting its “magical balance of bakers’ chocolate, roasted grain, coffee and malt character, balanced with an assertive hop finish.”
And, just last week, we had a visit from the gang at Hoosier Beer Geek. They’ve been exploring the barrel-aging at craft breweries in Indiana and took a tour with brewer Josh Hambright who heads up our barrel-aging program. You can read the detailed interview, Talking Wood, here.
